Sigh... (page 2)
Fitz on July 5, 2007
I'd always felt very insecure about my drawing skills. Oh, I would draw tons upon tons back in the day - but I'd keep it simple most of the time. I never really studied anatomy. I couldn't draw a decent background, even. Not to mention not very steady hand. To say the least. So at some point, seeing that it's heading nowhere, I gave up on drawing altogether - and went on to become a writer. Since that time, I wrote some 50 short stories, 4 novels - and now, eight years later, several thousand worth of bookpages later - here I am again, drawing a comic.

I love the shots of the background, or on images that they're talking about (ie: show a butterfly when they talk about butterflies in your stomach). Great stuff!

That poor mouse if he sighs any more he might hyperventerlate or wateva that word is?

Great dialogue.

Man, that Nissan and emblem and the effects around the feathers are TIGHT...either you have the steadiest hand in the world, or you know how to do something wicked with computer art that I've never seen before!

well, you do a pretty decent job for someone that can't draw...! you make the images interesting enough that one wants to read the story. Mission accomplished!

i like the emotions. Really that is the key, if you can express emotion you can tell any story you want. Unfortuantly I have a bank of about 3 or 4. But I completley see the crooked smarmey smile, and the sadness of the other character. it is even cooler because 60% of the human emotion is shone in the eyebrows, and your not even using then here. Tight clos ups like this are great.

Wow! You are one prolific fella! Well done!

I like how you never really see the people. Your style is very mellow, and a bit dark. Thumbs up.

Actually this particular page is my favorite because of the layout and the consistent color theme - the balance between the brown and the blue hues. As far as the layout goes, it's all pretty much intuitive - I basically just move objects and dialogue bubbles around until it clicks ;) But this is what I do professionally, too. I'm a CAD/CAM specialist. I design various thingamobs that are supposed to look nice and catch the eye.

Your entire page layout works well to your storytelling style. Very nice. Not often a webcomic starts with this much promise.
