You need to learn how to use equipment better!
you can't just SCAN something.
hopefully your scanner will give you several options. adjust contrast/brightness if you can.
also i would recommend scanning/resizing your images to 25% of the original size.
adjusting 'gamma' or 'levels' will also clean up your image.
resizing for web makes beter viewabilty as well as smaller file size. this means your page will load MUCH faster.

probably, but I didn't realize it would come out this huge, so I didn't give it much thought... will resize the rest, anyway...
