Kingofsnake- an excellent post. ^_^ I have to say at this junction, of course, that Sin is pretty much the total opposite of me. ^_^ She's quite young, though, compared to many people out there in this story's universe, and her group is both new and fairly small. I absolutely agree that it would be ultimately self-destructive. No matter what the specifics of a given world, though, you're always going to get people pursuing self destructive lifestyles. What with the fact that in this world, science has had the opportunity to stop looking for cures and drugs and solely look at improving people's lifestyles, it has given the opportunity for a much wider range of lifestyles, and that includes crazy cults and groups. :D
I'm looking forward to getting deeper into her worldview over the course of this story, and finding out what not-yet-introduced characters can teach her.
But I have to admit I do rather like her. ;)
There is always doing good for the sake of Good. Camus argued that the only reason anyone did good deeds was either for social noteriety and to increase respect received from his peers, or to increase his personal feelings of superiority to those around him, or for the carrot of eventual personal gain on a spiritual level. I agree while those are often motivation for doing good, there are many times that we will do good for the sake of Good, without any sort of personal, spiritual, or egotistical gain in mind.
I have trouble beleiving an immortal race would be able to exist with a hedonistic lifestyle. Hedonistic "good" is very temporary and does not fullfill our desire for Good. Once the temporary pleasure of whatever hedonistic "good" we pursue passes, one is left with as much, if not more wanting than before it. It is a self destructive path that an immortal would indubitably discover over the millenia
Now that I've seen the actual pages, it's a shame to see how a lot of the quality gets lost in the scanning and editing process.
Still, good anyways! Panel 2 is the bets and y'all knows it.
looks good pix. there seems to have been no "getting good" process with those markers. it's like you just picked em up and were immediately good with them.

Also: I'm not used to having a comic which generates deep, philosophical comments. ...I think I like it. ;)
