I nearly shuffled off my mortal coil from a tick bite... I've had maybe 50 ticks in my life, since I've always had a harem of pets and live in a national forest, but one little bastard nearly did me in! The impertinence! A severe allergic reaction is not aesthetically cool, cat's and kittens, let me tell you... but it was a little punk :P.
