Who's Murdering Miss Scarlet?: Page 19
Ironscarf on July 27, 2020
Here's the splash panel I promised you last time JNP! (for those who have better things to do, this is a comic artists in joke).
What goal is Miss Scarlet pursuing in Barbara's version of events I wonder? Has she solved the mystery, or can our remaining guests cook up ever more convoluted scenarios? Does Kyoko have everything under control at the pub? Will Windsock have a second slice of lemon drizzle? Tune in next time for the answers to these perplexing questions and more!

Our fiery redhead (orangehead?) has made her own bed and now must sleep in it.

@darkace: Thank you. You're absolutely right, Manga Studio is well set up for everything but lettering. I've always used Inkscape, which is just an open source take on illustrator and after trying MS for lettering, Inkscape remains! The kerning is all wrong in Manga Studio and it's, well, wonky describes it perfectly.

@ironscarf--You have very impressive art style and glad to hear you found a program that suits your needs. Manga Studio has been very helpful with my new art style as well since I've been using it for my series here on the Duck. My only complaint with MS is creating text is kinda wonky for me, so I use photoshop for texts and touch-ups.

@Genejoke: Indeed they are sir! Hard won experience has taught me never to trust one.
Ironscarf at 6:36AM, Aug. 7, 2015
@KimLuster: Thanks KL, I couldn't have done it without such great readers.
Ironscarf at 6:34AM, Aug. 7, 2015
@dpat57: Thanks - I was not prepared for all the fans camped outside my door! I don't think those bridge lurking Quackmanglers are going to be much help.
Ironscarf at 6:31AM, Aug. 7, 2015
@Banes: Thanks old chap. If I'd known the feature was coming I would've put up something a little less disturbing!
Genejoke at 4:23AM, Aug. 6, 2015
by gadS!that red head is being attacked by a german shepard. By jove, those kraut shepherders are ugly fellows.
KimLuster at 9:30PM, Aug. 5, 2015
Yup congratulations on your feature - well deserved I say!!
dpat57 at 11:01AM, Aug. 5, 2015
Fame at last, showing on the front page! Don't just stand there you blighters, help the lady!
Banes at 6:01AM, Aug. 5, 2015
This really feels violent and frightening. I love "ginger consciousness" too, haha. Hey...'Splash page'! I'm no artist, but I get it! Well done, old Bean! And big congrats on the well-deserved feature!

@JustNoPoint: Sorry JNP - I'll endeavour to be a little less obvious and a little more splashtasmagorical in future. Thanks again for pointing up the software sale, it's a keeper!
Ironscarf at 8:11PM, July 29, 2015
@skreem: Well said - any kind of physical exercise program is to be commended! I prefer a brisk walk meself.
Ironscarf at 8:07PM, July 29, 2015
@KimLuster: Thanks KL! Don't be too harsh on the quackheads, they've got a fiver on the outcome after all.
Ironscarf at 8:04PM, July 29, 2015
@bravo1102: Glad you enjoyed it old chum!
Ironscarf at 7:59PM, July 29, 2015
@ozoneocean: Many thanks for that! It seems with Manga Studio I don't have to concentrate so much on making the linework look right: I can get looser and more energetic without loosing definition. I really hope this is going to improve my work rate!
Ironscarf at 7:52PM, July 29, 2015
@VinoMas: Thank you!
Ironscarf at 7:51PM, July 29, 2015
@darklace: Many thanks - I just switched to Manga Studio, which has a much more natural feel than programs I've previously tried. That may have something to do with improved line quality!
Ironscarf at 7:48PM, July 29, 2015
@plymayer: %)
JustNoPoint at 5:39PM, July 29, 2015
I've heard the phrase "fading ginger consciousness" far too often in my life. And the hype of the actual page far surpassed the splash I expected!
Froggtreecomics at 10:08AM, July 29, 2015
Work the body!
KimLuster at 4:42AM, July 29, 2015
Man this looks absolutely fabulous - so visceral!! That Dog is possessed!! Look at those guys in the back, cheering - jerkwads lol
bravo1102 at 3:53AM, July 29, 2015
What a lovely turn of phrase and a magnificent splash panel as the dog takes charge.
Ozoneocean at 12:57AM, July 29, 2015
"Fading ginger conciousness" XD The grey really makes the orange POP like a lovely vermilion sunrise through smoke. Gorgeous work with lots of lovely detail and frenetic energy in every mark.
