Who's Murdering Miss Scarlet?: Page 23

The already thickened plot gets considerably more viscous! Fear not - the guilty party may be sitting pretty for now, but the noose is tightening, the clock is clicking and the chickens are coming home to roost.
When I first drew this carpet it was drawn from memory, but with a larger expanse of floor to cover I went in search of reference material. To my amazement, I couldn't find a lovingly curated archive of late sixties/early seventies carpet designs on the whole blinking internet! Sometimes I wonder what the world is coming to. If you should happen to come across such a thing on your travels, I would love to hear about it.

Nefarious blaggars are abroad Mo - don't have nightmares!
moizmad at 7:57PM, Sept. 13, 2016
Well you can't blame Viking for that! I'll be back tomorrow to finish.

Thanks dpat57, I tried to squeeze a months worth of action in there!
dpat57 at 9:03AM, Nov. 22, 2015
A tsunami of drama, squeezed somehow into a mere 2 panels!

@tupapayon: It's a little confusing I'll admit but never fear - another guest is about to come forward with a theory that will definitely give us all the answers. Probably. Almost certainly.

@Unka John: I riding this train to the end of the line Unk, even though it's a slow ride at times! Must be the orange seats at the bar that keep me on board.
tupapayon at 3:55PM, Nov. 21, 2015
New evidence comes to light... that makes things a lot more clear... or confusing...
Unka John at 2:35PM, Nov. 21, 2015
God's teeth! Another update! Crafty color placement Mr. Scarf.

@fallopiancrusader: Keenly observed FC! What chance does the victim have if her rescuers are dehydrated? Thankfully Windsock always keeps a cool head in any crisis, by never straying too far from the ice bucket.
fallopiancrusader at 9:01AM, Nov. 21, 2015
Well, Miss Scarlett is in good hands. Clearly at least one member of this band knows that the highest priority in first aid is to retire to the wet-bar and whip up a good martini
Ironscarf at 4:44AM, Nov. 21, 2015
@bravo1102: Moriarty must be a cat person. Over here we call leashes leads, which is of course another word for clues. Could that be another clue I wonder?
Ironscarf at 4:32AM, Nov. 21, 2015
@KimLuster: Heh, thanks Kim! I can promise you all of these loose ends will be knotted together in the final conclusion - I've already booked some boy scouts.
bravo1102 at 3:26AM, Nov. 21, 2015
Ah yes rope burns caused by her dog leash. The gentleman in question tied her up with her late canine's leash to further teach her a lesson in proper dog handling. It has to be Moriarty!
KimLuster at 7:52PM, Nov. 20, 2015
This clue slipped by them, but now maybe they can tie some of this together! Great page! ;)
Ironscarf at 7:11PM, Nov. 20, 2015
@skreem: A deeply moving tale my friend. I too spent my formative years lurking amongst the swirling foliage (was it foliage? I was never quite sure?) of a similar carpet with a quality street tin full of Lego.
Ironscarf at 7:05PM, Nov. 20, 2015
@Gunwallace: your un-peaking villain sounds too unspeakable for this comic! She's a bleeder alright - lucky for Reg his sofas just happen to be the same colour, otherwise the mess would be unsteamable.
Ironscarf at 7:00PM, Nov. 20, 2015
@Banes: Haha! indeed she won't! Thanks for spotting that typo Banes and thanks for the kind remarks!
Froggtreecomics at 6:45PM, Nov. 20, 2015
That carpet is not dissimilar to a lounge carpet my grandparents owned during the 1980s. Though, now dispoiled by the ravages of time I fear, it's memory is livid with me and specific patches of it's pattern... the landing site of my model millenium falcon.
Gunwallace at 6:21PM, Nov. 20, 2015
But doesn't 'unpeakable' mean the villain takes he time over the torture, never peaking too soon? No. No it doesn't. Great page. That's a lot of orange coming out of Ms Scarlet in the final panel.
Banes at 6:15PM, Nov. 20, 2015
viscous, indeed! And a nefarious blaggard, indeed! Caught a typo in panel 2: Unspeakable, rather than unpeakable (though she won't be peaking any time soon, either, I'll warrant). Again, it's a feast for the eyes, with the architecture, and the depth you achieve with the layouts. Layers behind layers behind layers!
