Actually, I just had a thought, which is actually inappropriate for this comic page/mini-series section, but refers to something done earlier. The Ruthvern escutcheon resembling Sailor Moon. Is it possible that Vlad's Father encouraged Sailor Moon, either in it's initial creation or in spreading it's popularity to more western audiences, purely or dominantly to make fun of the Ruthven escutcheon?
I know that they're vampires from birth, but Immortality is supposed to be a curse for a good reason. And, hey, from Humanity's point of view, this might actually be beneficial. After all, Vlad will now want to invest in Human Life-Extension Technology, Medicine and other Developments, and may be able to bully his parents into doing so as he gets older.
Bah, we already know he eventually has time travel tech. He can just visit his descendants whenever (literally) he wants. Immortality is overrated ... But an extended lifespan is not so bad >_>;

Especially when your wife is a vampire.
