photobyjt: I can believe that. I think pretty much every airforce did. At least the USA had technology. Greek air force was so little numbered most didn't believe they did what they did with those numbers and some planes dating from WWI.

@Pit Face: Is Hunter really that lucky? ;-) @Tantz: The US was hurting for experienced pilots - If read correctly, that was part of the reason the army started training the Tuskegee Airmen aka "Red Tails"

in short, Hunter's one lucky SOB.

chrisdotclark: thanks! // Darwin: you're right at that; Greece has had her share of grand traitors, but in the majority you'd be surprised how much and how many were the Greeks that were willing to thumb their chin at them. In the case of Athens and at the highlands where Hunter is, especially when it came to harboring marooned allied soldiers and/or SOE agents, it has been well documented that entire constellations of villages collectively kept their mouths shut about them and the nazis never got them. // photobyjt: That's true :(

Five stars.

Oh my...but more people means more witnesses, and more witnesses means more people willing to give him over to the Germans. Can't say all Greeks were willing to thumb their chin at the Nazis

5 Smuggling injured American pilots in Nazi-occupied territory - another day for the partisans! Sad, if pilot gets back, the military will patch him up and send him back out to fly to fight the Nazis...

it's interesting you say that Bravo! Tantz gave me the refs for the village and it instantly reminded me of that too, since i had alot of family from PA and kept it in mind when i put down the inks for the village, so im thrilled you made that connection to! thanks!

Great work. Really captures those hillside mountain villages like the one I used to visit family in coal mining country in PA. Everybody grunts when on a mule under a blanket.
