It's no problem. The High Queen, the princess, the kidnapper soldiers, and everyone else will question him because, hero or not, Chev IS a mouse. So he's going to be underestimated just for that. It's like if Chev were a small boy who was doing the same thing. Folks would say, "How can he do all of this he's just a kid". They don't know that he's been dreaming of and preparing for such an adventure his whole life(I guess that makes Chev the Batman of the Hither and Yon. LOL), we know that. But they'll soon all find out. ;) Dee - Chev writer dude
Over thinking it? Just a bit. Chev is the hero and heroes do what heroes do--They find a way to save the day. But you're not the first to wonder you're actually the second. LOL. There's a guy on Google Groups who's just decided that Chev and T-T are somehow "magic mice" because of Chev's heroics and T-T's super burp, etc. But if you're reading a fairy tale/fantasy story with unicorns, fairies, elves, and stuff where the mice "talk", how can you really question anything else that happens as being over the top? It's something we adults do, try to make "sense" of it(Google Groups guy actually tried to explain T-T's super burp with modern science), kids just read and enjoy. :) Dee - Chev writer dude
So.... I know this is high fantasy and geared largely toward children, so not over-thinking it - just wondering... How much of Chev and Tom's ability to defeat the soldiers was due to magic syrup and such? I mean, the sentient mice are smarter, but are they naturally stronger too. I'm thinking not, since everyone seems surprised at what Chev is trying, and accomplishing! Yah, I'm over-thinking it haha
If you remember the High Queen said the exact same thing to Chev when he volunteered to go and find the Princess. I don't think it's them dissing him but more them seeing the task that he has chosen to undertake to be seemingly impossible for any "man" to accomplish much less a mouse. But like Yoda once asked, "Judge me by my size, do you?" And like you, Kim, I'd take one Chev (and a Tom-Tom) over ten "human" soldiers. ;) Dee - Chev writer dude

No prob - I am enjoying it and can roll with it. I was just wondering why the Queen and the Princess questioned our Hero... No biggie - Great Story!

But a mouse...? I'll take 1 Chev for every 10 normal soldiers!
