Ranger Bill gets the last word today but he should be very happy that he didn't get a chance to go along on this particular crossover. As part of the throwing around of ideas that goes on with one of this project I actually proposed to the others the possibility of Ranger Bill tagging along… so that I could KILL him off, for reals!! I'm evil I know. At any rate that idea was itself killed off by the others (for various reasons) and probably just as well, after thinking it through it a little more I decided I didn't really want to kill off Ranger Bill after all.
So anyway, here we have it - the final page of the Magellan leg of Crossoverkill! Where are Energize, MM and Hoodoo off to now? You'll have to check in on Friday to find out but I can assure you that you will be awesomified!
It isn't the first time that Ranger Bill failed to catch a portal...
And now I am even more curious about who or what Death looks like in the Magellanverse. Darn you, creator ;-)
On the topic of Ranger Bill I should note that, like Hoodoo, he has had a costume make-over... certainly nothing as stunning and colour shifting as Hoodoo's but there are a number of small "improvements" from his last major appearance during Chapter 4 in Magellan - the most notable being the RB shield.
It was heaps of fun working on this Magellan sequence - I came into it after several months hiatus on Magellan and it certainly helped me to get my mojo back for the main series. I'm very much looking forward to working on the pages to come...!
I don't think Ranger Bill haas ever gotten so much love before. (Certainly not from MM...)
This is one of the fun parts of CROSSOVERKILL. In CROSSOVERLORD, there was a villain from each hero's reality who had appeared before---so there were essentially at least two characters from each strip in the story. We wanted to do something a little different, so the Gang is new---although as you'll find, some have ties with already established webcomics---but we take a little time in each character's reality, and let readers unfamiliar with the comic get a "taste" of it.
So we brought in Superpowergirl, Heroes Unite, and the rest of Force Magellan and the Character Assassins.
The Magellanverse is a fun place, and we hope you keep checking on it. Now we're off to another reality.
Great close to a great run, xmung! As much as I would've loved to see more Ranger Bill, I'm glad that by not tagging along he'll live to fight another day. (On a side note, I now have "Magical Mystery Tour" stuck in my head.)
I wonder....Ranger Bill is from another dimension, so is he from a dimension where Team Magellan is a comic book? This puts me in mind of ANTs comment to Yuki that "you're fictional in my world."
Coming up next, Ranger Bill realizes he has, by referring to "crossovers", acknowledged that he is in a story. He assumes leadership of the Character Assassains in order to bring himself some more screentime and a date with Mindmistress by blackmailing the author...
The fact that he simultaneously delivers the line and knocks out two Character Assassins with one punch makes it better. Those sad-face masks never look so appropriate.

i wonder if anyone will see it, but what protects the master assasin from the logic attack of "did you ever think that YOUR the main character?"

We need the Benny Hill soundtrack right about now...

Don't worry, Ranger Bill. You can still be a hero. Take a shovel and dig my driveway out of the two feet of snow that's out there.

Don't worry Ranger Bill, you might get a chance to be in the next one. (If there will be next one...)
