Following up on the Red Death is ALWAYS intimidating for any artist. However, I wanted at least one page emphasizing the “death-feedback” that the Gangers experience, when one of their own is killed. We've seen that once before, during the part of the sequence set in Magellan.
It's a huge advantage to be teamed with all the yous you COULD have been. But for every advantage there is a disadvantage.
It was fun to vary the responses depending on the individual Ganger.
And yes, one of them is a homage to a very famous piece of art.
Well, let's put it this way. We'll try to update EVERY Tuesday---and when possible, do an additional one Thursday. For instance, assuming Neil finishes his for tomorrow--and I still haven't seen it--I've already finished this week's Thursday update.
And Essaybee---of course. What OTHER masterpiece could I be referring to?---Al
not that I want to gang up on you Zodo, but I thought I should also point out that the psychic feedback when a Ganger dies has been seen a couple of times now - first when Esteben Frio is killed by the Master Assassin waaaay back in Chapter 1 (the Magellan sequence) and then when the beta Gangers die while trying to capture Red Death at the start of this chapter. So not quite a Deus ex Machina but a useful and fully exploited "out clause" :)
As for the very famous piece of art reference, you're obviously referring to Sneakshade's reaction being an homage to the cinematic masterpiece Home Alone, right?
Neil's a Ganger? That explains so MUCH....
Yeah, seriously, he had a delay. But his pages are worth waiting for. We'll see. If it's TOO late, we'll just skip the "Thursday" update and do it Tuesday. I have the page after that, and I'll easily have it done by Tuesday, and we can run that either Tuesday or Thursday, depanding on what Neil does.
Zodo: Also, remember Vector and his fleet are surrounding this Earth, ready to blast it. This isn't a resolution by any means. Even if Vector is momentarily pained, it's not the end.
Seems to be as I called it. The heroes aren't able to defeat the bad guys. It's a big Deus ex Machina that saves the day. I enjoy this comic, but these kinds of resolutions aren't very appealing to me.

Emphasis on "try". Now Neil is saying it will be finished sometime today. We'll see.

zodo--Remember the prologue? You know things are going to get a lot worse for the heroes and this is far from a resolution.
theRedDeath at 10:09AM, March 29, 2012
Ease up Zodo, this isn't the climax of the story.
