Yeah, the Scooby Snacks thing always bugged me too.
The only way I can make it make sense is to assume that Shaggy named Scooby after the treats, like maybe he really liked them as a puppy or something.

i think that in one of the shows, it was shaggy that invented the snack and then licensed it to a company that mass produced them.

Would do anything for dog food! Even team up with the ghost of the phantom yeti witch doctor.
Use to think it was odd that Scooby and the Scooby snacks had the same name, just figured they named the dog after the snacks.
