Happy Friday, everybody!

I have a news flash for you. On New Year's Day, I received an email from Mark Knight, a novelist living in the UK. He contacted me because one of my readers read about his latest novel. The new book, Blood Family, is a tale of a 17-year-old boy who learns he is a vampire. His quest for his real parents leads him on a variety of exciting adventures. The reason Mark emailed me was his concerns about the name he had chosen for his main character. Daniel Dark.

Mark only learned of Danielle Dark that day, and was worried I would protest his character's name and demand he change it. I told him not to worry, and suggested we cross promote the novel and the comic. We both agreed to stress that the novel and comic are not connected in any way, and the similarities are pure coincidence. This sort of thing has happened many times. For instance, when Hank Ketcham introduced Dennis the Menace in the USA in the 1950s, David Law introduced his comic of the very same name in the UK. This happened within days of each other.

Mark Knight is a very nice guy, and I look forward to working with him to promote his novel and my comic. Who knows where this will go. It should be a lot of fun.
