@usedbooks: Thanks for the condolences. I rescued 2 kittens about 3 months ago, one being Tulip's sister as well as Tulip. She was born with a rare birth defect which stunted her development a lot, she didn't grow or develop much since the day we rescued her. She developed many complications, leukemia and kidney failure being a couple of them. She didn't have a real chance to survive and she was in a lot of pain, so the decision to put Tulip down was a very tough one. She was only alive for 6 months and those 3 months we had her were some of the best in my life. She wasn't here for long but we kept her happy and comfortable in the time that she was here. Her sister Poppy is in excellent health thankfully.

I'm so sorry for your loss! I have a 20 year old cat and two younger ones. (Even losing one of my pet rats can send me into bad depression.) Do whatever you need to help you cope.
