Superman doesn't do those things because it would be too easy for him to turn into a dictator. You have to let some things play out, hard as it might be to accept them. Savunn may get the chance to learn this soon enough.
well if this was like our world then there already is involvement, as third world governments hold governments responsible for their newscasters' actions. personally i'd have gone with the mother's story, after losing her husband and facing slavery for her and her daughter she heroically bought enough time for her daughter and several other women to escape. though child suffering sells better, which is why i could never be a reporter. this also illustrates why i don't like superman, he was born on another planet, grew up in a small town in the middle of nowhere, and runs around a first world city saving people from muggers and such. he has the power to take on a whole army to save a village in some third world, or to expose corruption (allowing police to save at least as many people as he does), expose incompetence in crucial positions which cost millions of people their livelihood, etc. it is kind of like the balloon quest in the spiderman 2 video game.
zgrssd--All of this will be addressed. Plus you'll get a look at the international hero community. (SAS--by U.N. rules--is strictly a North American hero group. Other regions have their own hero groups.)
I wonder what the official line of the Heroic Community/SAS is regarding such incidents. I guess, "we cannot be officially involved without invitation and if you get yourself captured going there anway, we can't come to rescue you".
