I was raised a Protestant and I have gone on practise and study Buddhism later on. Strange thing….. the more I learned about Buddhism, the more I learned that the essential lessons are the same. Oh, the faces change, and they each have their own mythologies, but when you get past the personalities and stories and get down to the nitty gritty of the teachings, you find the same lessons in both. Besides, how much difference really is there between attaining enlightenment beneath the Bodhi tree and rejecting earthly temptation in the wilderness? My opinion….. Jesus was a Buddha, Gautama was a Christ, and they were both TEACHERS. The most important thing is the lesson. So, study that and take it into your heart.

Or don't. I'm not the boss of you!
