Notes: Several years ago, before TZP aired, I read a book called “The Silver Metal Lover” by Tanith Lee, and it very quickly became one of my favorite books. Later, when Zeta was in its second season, I tried to imagine what Zeta and Ro would do, if put in the position of the main characters from the book, and I started to write “For the Record.” Fortunately, after so many years of throwing the story out and restarting, it has only a slight resemblence to TSML. The title of this comic was inspired by that book, which is written from the main character, Jane's, point of view, as if she is writing the story. She mentions that she is writing it as a record.

The first few pages are more like illustrated fan fiction than a comic. That will start to change around page five.

Notes on Canon: For anyone who is new to TZP, I'm not “breaking the fourth wall” by having Ro write this as a letter to the fans. In the episode “Wired, part one,” Zee and Ro meet a group of kids who call themselves their fans, and they learn there are actually a lot of “fans” on the Internet who follow Zeta's movements, posting new information. I think it was a very nice way for Robert Goodman to actually include us in the show's canon.
