smkinoshita: Yep, horses are worth a LOT in just about any society that I know of, and as a result were often protected a bit during battles. Although if you really want to be effective, it's a lot easier to hit a mount than a rider.
kalliikak: I'm glad you didn't notice just how twisted the road would have to be to have that shot actually happen … and I think you know what happened on this page!
Winzrella: Yes! I'm trying very hard to have this land look Finnish :-)
JillyFoo: Thank you! I wish I could do the emotions with watercolors that you manage in Demon Eater.
ejb: Long time no see! Welcome back, and I'm glad to have your comments again. And, yes, they all ran. Did you really expect anything else? Looks like you, too, favor the archers. Try reading “Arrows Against Steel” sometime, if you haven't already done so.

like when that guy is shooting peoples arms off in princess mononoke, lol... you have no idea how much i'd like to believe it was an arrow that did that. =P i wonder what the other horsemen are thinking just now...

Hmmm... If Willy's using an English Longbow or equivalent, I can see that happening...

Explosive marksmanship! Sometimes it pays to be an unassuming, unarmored spearman rather than a big shiny target, I suppose. I haven't read Arrows Against Steel, but it looks interesting and I'll have to check it out.
