Hmmm, Kalliikak, I'll have to try your trick - perhaps it will yield good things for me, too! But I think the problem is that I know so clearly what I want with the art by hand, and have been trying to replicate that. And perhaps I should just give up on replication and try for something new …

Everyone loves the tentacle dogs - don't ask me how they run, because even I can't figure it out. Thanks for the comments, guys! I'll try to get back into updating more often in the hopes that you'll come back :-) kalliikak: I think that one of the most promising applications of the increasing computer-tablet sophistication will be in the arena of art. One of my major difficulties is the disconnect between drawing on a board on my lap and having it appear on the screen at my eye-level. I'm too trained to look at my hands as I draw, and I end up frustrated. But a tablet where you can draw right on the screen? That, I think, will break through much of the problems that I, at least, have with drawing digitally.

Hooray for the return of the tentacle-legged werfing things!

I like his eyes in the first panel. I also like how you did the creature flying in the background of the final panel, plus her look of hopelessness.

those are fun looking critters. i think this style is fun and vibrant. i don't know that you should give up on replicating the idea in your head. it's certainly possible, i'd think. i saw the most amazing digital painting on deviantart the other day, i thought for sure it was watercolor when i first looked. i wouldn't have thought it was possible to replicate watercolor with digital... since... using water on electronics ends so poorly. it's just a matter of fiddling... and maybe technique. both of those terribly time intensive tasks >.< i wonder if you could put to words 'what you want with the art by hand'... or perhaps examples? one thing i've become increasingly interested in, is which pieces of art an artist is happiest with. some musing of conflicts.
