And the captain and the alien face-off on the intercom. We also learn the alien's name. If they abandoned ship not only would there be no story, but they wouldn't have stopped the alien. Do you think our brave heroine will just leave rather than fighting the alien to the last fiber of her being? They don't give you command of a Deep Space Survey Vessel for a pretty smile and a big rack.

Truthfully, it isn't really the captain's planet to give. It's all of ours. And, I don't really think she's about to surrender. We might be about to have a Serapis moment. History will remember Captain Calloway's famous "I have not yet begun to fight!"
