To avoid giving away any kind of spoilers for the next couple of pages, (and a few further along in this story) For right now, with this page, Wilson has not yet completely lost it, And the idea of suicide has not yet come across his mind.
- Another thing to point out is that suicide is something thats often done with an irrational mind.
There are many instances in both fiction and in history where people are tormented by evil they know they can prevent, but the overwhelming guilt of being part of that "evil" can be too much for them. It's ultimately a cowards' way out. :/
ANYWHO I hope this helps a little bit for the time being.

you know, if he was gonna kill himself anyway..........why didn't just attempt to kill him which would have likely caused his demise anyway, but at least he might have succeeded.
