A little bit of Plot Convenience News here, but I do think it's justified in that it's a feature that they're continuing from previously in the week (therefore, Eiderdown's mom could reasonably guess when it will happen) and it doesn't say everything Eiderdown's mom expects it to.
But this is about how well such a secret identity can stay together in the real world.  Julie has really only been able to stay anonymous because she isn't a known figure when in her civilian identity.  When one uses deductive reasoning, they would know very few people out there know both Spanish and Lao on top of English, and it can be easy to narrow things down from there.  Eiderdown is definitely in danger of having her secret identity exposed.
