Page 35: Crossover Melee - The Dogs of War

I hope you enjoy the little character-building bits I try to put in. It's nice to me to explain a superhero's motivations when they don't have heavy trauma in their life or the like, and yet their motivations are legitimate. Some people just want to make a difference, and Eiderdown has her own reason for starting her life as a superhero. Granted, those motives may shift as she gets caught up in more universe-threatening scenarios, but where she came from is the idea that she can do her own part to make sure the police can focus on bigger things.

But this page also underlines another point: this has become a job to her. She definitely doesn't have to do it, but in her mind, it's the only course of action. To not help in such circumstances would be unthinkable to her. Not only that, but she is also the only superhero in her world, so she also knows that a superpowered threat is assuredly her responsibility.
