Page 7: Crossover Melee 9 - Scarecrow

Remember the woman? She was the one in the second Crossover Melee bit that wanted Astral to sign her boob. I even listed her in the script as “Boob Lady”. I'll give her a name, since she's sticking around it seems. It's kinda split between two names, both me thinking of future chapters and going with the theme naming for the issues. Which one depends on the direction I want to take her.

Also: it is quite a pain to draw a music store at times. That stuff behind Astral is supposed to be CDs (based on Arcata's former store the Works, where they had the booklets for the CDs on the floor to look at, and all the discs and cases behind the counter). Also, check that first panel. Up on the wall are three record covers (well, supposed to be that). The first is an easy one. The other two are fictitious. Space Lost Gravity is a band name that comes from an interesting conversation at my previous job (I wish I were still working there, especially with being unemployed now since February). The other is a bit of a cameo from Retake or Relik (whichever you prefer to see it as–they follow the same character). I figured I'd show a celebrity music album, in the vein of Shatner “singing”. My idea is that he did this under contract, not of his own accord (hence his expression on the cover).

This is part of Crossover Melee. If you want to be involved, e-mail me at karamesser@hotmail.com or PQ me on this site.
