That's actually not too far off from what's been happening. Like Nayru said back in Ch.7, he's still weakened from a fight with a previous Zelda. Hence why he's been showing up as shadows, dim lights, and a disembodied voice.

I don't blame him he hasn't had enough. Watch it be though that Ganon in this story uses the pig form as a means of distraction and intimidation when in game time at this point he's older than dirt and barely clinging to life.
