Prophecy's are soppuse to make barley any sense when some one tells them to you. The less you able to understand then the greater importance of the prophecy itself. As for Steve being the chosen one... I see two ways. Either A he is the chosen one (What better way to have something die then to have death deal with it) or B he isn't the chosen one and is just there to clean up the mess afterwards (Like his relationship with the james bond spies in the past comics)

Am I missing something or does that second panel not make a lot of sense? What was that about an emperor and darkness? Or is this person(?) just talking in the style of those who can see the future?
