Shapism, that's what it is, pure shapism. Kill all you want when it's goblins and seamonsters and whatnot, but as soon as he is trying to kill someone who (apart from ears, skin color, gender, etc..) is same shape as him, Nemo gets all bent out of shape. Hopefully he comes up with a better reason than "murder is wrong" for not killing whatsherface.

Well, walking the plank wasn't particularly historical, if I remember correctly. There was at least one recorded instance of it that happened... because the "pirates" in question thought that is what pirates were supposed to do because of the mythos. But yeah, go Nemo.

Wasn't there some old superstition aboard murder on bord of a ship? Something about bad luck or haunting ghosts? Why else let people "walk the Plank" or "keelhaul" them? (aside from giggles). Of course with Nemo there might also some other good reason, like information gathering as antlan87 sugested on the last page.
