Graduation Flight

Spar has finally achieved her first goal as a Dragon Rider career. She is now cleared to ride her dragon Ty. But Spar is lobbying hard to be allowed to ride her second dragon Didi. Problem is Didi is not growing normally and is very small for her age. The lair healer is being very careful and is asking Spar to wait until and if Didi gets bigger.

Okay. I also read Girl Genius and the Jaegers wear hats and I'm now wondering what a mash-up of your dragons & Jaegers would be like.

@KAM. Most dragons elect to wear hats. Royal mother does not and she has a rider, Wind Siren. The sisters think themselves as good as RM and choose not to wear a hat. Blake wears a hat but he has no rider (yet). So the answer is no. Most dragons wear hats. When I get lazy or forget, they don't. I really should have given the Sisters nurse hats.

I don't know what lore those two are reading because the link between dragon and rider goes both ways, and that same link effects both dragon and rider on a phycological level, how can either see their other half be mistreated, to do so is to mistreat oneself.
