@ Corruption: It is also possible that the crest is the artifact that Minna is sensing. Of course, this doesn't mean that the stranger is fully human, just that the crest is not part of their biology, and thus not a display of them not being human.

That crest on the head makes me think the stranger is NOT fully human. Of course, if all the creatures that draw their magic that world's goddess turned back into humans, that would be impossible (unless their power comes from elsewhere, like Lan Fiveclaw and any descendents of his, including Lana, who draw THEIR power from their divine ancestory in Lord Hades.)
