Update
TheGhost on April 25, 2015
A brief update with what's going on. For the past few weeks, I have been staying with my grandmother from Sunday evenings through Friday evenings and come home for Saturdays, the only time I have access to the internet. I have given a lot of thought as to how I can work on the comic without the use of my computer, even entertaining the idea of saving for a Surface Pro 2. However, it would take me a few months of saving to afford one, and I don't want to wait that long to start working on the comic. The reason for not taking my computer to my grandmother's; I didn't want to stay at a desk for hours working on pages, while something portable would allow me to work from any room and be with her at almost all times. But I really want to get back to work on the comic. So this Sunday I will be packing up my computer and taking it with me. I have a small desk in the dining room I will be using and plan to work for short sprints whenever I can. I am looking into getting the internet there, as well.
I don't know when the updates will begin again, but I'm working hard on making that happen! I'm sorry for the hiatus and uncertainty throughout all of this. Not being able to work on the comic has hit me harder than I thought it would. I hope I can get into a new routine that will allow for two updates a week, if not, one update a week is still better than nothing.
Thank you all for your patience with me and this situation.

Family's first! I know that situation all too well myself and it's nagging me no end every time it happens. Still, priorities have never been a question in those cases. Take your time. I'll be there when you're back.

Currently using a 13" HD wacom cintiq hooked up to a small mac mini to work at a second location for a family member. There are window versions of the mac mini, small form factor computers easy to carry with one hand. The wacom 13" HDs have come down in price, but I don't know how that would compare to a single surface pro. Whatever works for ya, good luck.

Needing to care for the grandmother is important. I have used a Surface Pro with manga studio. The screen doesn't have multiple levels of sensitivity and you will need to move and archive files on another hard drive due to the size of one included. But you would be able to snag a used one fairly cheap.
