Whisky in the jar

A sensible artist with my less than stellar art skills might shy away from drawing tricky scenes like the last panel.

Any police callout that is logged as a domest violence callout always has pretty much eveyone involved writing up their statements, whether or not charges are pressed. It's time-consuming and part of the culture of ‘red tape’ a lot of people rail against, but it's also a positive sign that domestic violence, whether male on female, female on male or between same-sex couples is more visible and is taken more seriously.

The Joneses are not a typical DV case, typically one partner bullies and overpowers the other whether physically, emotionally, sexually or financially. The Joneses are my solution to the problem of how to show that domestic violence is much less cut and dried than some media portrayals imply.
