In the manga I got the impression Kuro's boot cut Ruffy's mouth. He's that kind of sharp dresser. Though here he seems to be wearing some kind of wool socks.

I personally think it more believable that it's still double damage, but he just crit with it. Triple damage is rare as all hell on that kind of thing.

Yeah, doesn't Luke have insane amounts of DR against bludgeoning- which unarmed strikes do? It's the Stealth Foot that makes him flat-footed I imagine, since Kuro DID manage to do that, even though the movement provokes an AoO. I imagine you could just add in something along the lines of "deal triple damage with my unarmed strike, and I bypass any DR my target may have" or some such thing, if you want to keep in the fact that Luke took a bunch of damage.

Yeah, I just did a frame-by-frame of the scene in question and Kuro did in fact kick him. I was just a bit confused there because Luffy said that he cut his mouth while getting back up again. Maybe it was a mistranslation or something. >_>
