Shapeshifters live amongst us as a dying breed. When purebreds are the only ones left with the ability to change, making it even more impossible for the half bloods and mixed breeds or “demibreeds” to keep in hiding, their fragile community rages in war. The land they live upon is a small community, blocked in to keep their land separate from the humans who have grown, depending on modern techniques like technology and cars, that of which many of this sheltered community have not heard of.

Border passes are being assigned, breaking up families depending on what their dominant part of their appearance is in order to try to enforce a purer form of breeding to try to get the shapeshifting ability back in the dying race. Anyone defying these laws result in death. Resistances versus the purebreds and the demibreeds fighting for their rights have broken out.

The only area exempt from this war is the Black Market, a community considered a haven despite the fact that it thrives on illegal trade. Any and all races, demibreed and pure are welcome here… as long as they are willing to work dirty in order to pay for the high property tax and tribute that comes every year in order to live there.
