Nanjo, I've already told you. You got to star in a story, stop trying to be a main character. (Whatever character you don't choose gives you an item, Nanjo actually gives you a really good one if memory serves)

One thing I didn't like about P1 (and foor that matter P2) was that you could choose your party members...but you had to stick with the same party for the rest of the game (P2 doesn't even give you the choice, it merely replaces one member for another. In EP you can choose between 2 potential members, but then you have to stick to that member...till they get replaced by Tatsuya anyway...)
