Well, in the last pages, it said that Red and Green only wanted to go to "destroy Gold" as in they want him to suffer from always having advantages. Since Gold has to wait for his mother, they just decided to have a battle.
This is silly, why aren't they riding on Daisuke's Greymon :P
Hmm why exactly is Green accepting the battle? I thought it was urgent for them to travel >_>
