When seeing the starting video, I noticed that Tails and Knuckles both jump out of the tornado while it was still flying, raising the question “What happened to it?” (I doubt its auto pilot, Tails jumps far too quickly for him to have applied it)
As for crediting, I will probably do a page just for giving credit for sprites

Yes they did. I'm trying to keep as close as I can to the actual game script/events where possible (but with whatever musings I had when I played/watched the scenes)

Perhaps his autopilot activates after his weight no longer applys pressure to his seat.
