cres: Yup! And thank you! Chairman: True. But it was intentional, to fit the clarinet's sound and to fit her personality. But it's worth noting that Olivia has dealt the killing/defeating blows against John's monster, Charlie's monster, and Eric's monster. So far John has only finished the job on Ashley's. In a way you can think of John's aggressive spells just "supporting" Olivia's duty to help these people. In combat I sort've think of him as her knight: He uses his strength to defend her, support her cause, and strike out at enemies to deal damage when they are too threatening for her.

I love how the main protaganist has a support role in combat.

They are getting more creative in how they are helping each other I see. But Olivia's really grown hasn't she. Nice last panel, particularly her look and the view point.
