It's been a rough month. This comic took quite awhile to do as I just didn't have the ambition to work on it. I wanted to show case that in the Super Temps world, all broadcast devices have a “super-villain over-ride” mode, and that the heroes and villains are allowed to contact each other pretty much well whenever. Yes, there's a bit of a jump since all groups have more or less returned to their headquarters to plan their next steps, and while the heroes are at a loss Skully has a surprise for Pyscha! Since it's been awhile: The basic plot so far is that Skully's trying to get the diamond so she can amplify her pretend “mind control” and take over the city, but the diamond was stolen by new villain “Bad Trip”, who is an alternative persona of Psycha, who's returned because Jenny ret-conned her relationship with Hydro and Skully kissed him passionately. Psycha is Hydro's ex, and she broke up with him to pursue a greater career out West, leaving Hydro rather bitter. Psycha has no idea that Kim purposely let Jenny's ret-con fly so she could be manipulated into returning as a ratings grab. Kim is meanwhile working behind the scenes to protect Skull Girl from Pycha's wrath, partially out of guilt and partially out of ‘big sister’ view she has of Molly. Psycha believes that Skully actually DOES have some real, unregistered psychic powers and considers her an actual evil threat in the guise of an innocent girl. Skully on the other hand is thrilled that a high-profile super like Psychadelchick thinks she's (professionally) evil. And finally, Jenny hurt her shoulder trying to frame Skully for accidentally causing an injury, and it was discovered that pain boosts her intelligence considerably. Her frame-job failed because she couldn't lie to Skully's doe eyes, but the honesty garnered some respect from Hydro, while her new cunning surprised Skiv, whom Jenny may have a crush on. All clear? Cool.
@Ozmandious: Most comics and professional wrestling sound like soap operas.
*** @Mina Lunga *** : His arms had enough time to rest while they moved him (Cursive carried him). Hydro's tough. Psycha really doesn't need to restrain him; there's not much he can do against her and Cursive since the former can stun him with a moment's focus and the latter is a better fighter. (Hydro is a good fighter, but Cursive is a good fighter who is bigger and more experienced and can interfere with his powers)
@shastab24: Unlike our world, in Super Temps organized crime works for the government as opposed to competing with it. You have to keep in mind that in Super Temps, their government performs a critical service in keeping the supers in line. Supers thrive on attention, so having the cameras on them keeps them placated. It's the main reason why supers are never sent to prison, because the isolation from the public eye just makes them worse. Hence the reason for their 'dead or alive' bounties on actually malicious supers. Back when Skully was fighting with LeFrenchie, Iron specifically mentions that Kim or Skully could have murdered him and been rewarded for it. The only thing that keeps rogue supers alive is the fact that the super-culture prides itself on never causing serious injury, so killing is just not in the nature of most supers.
@Darth Xelleon: Most comics are written like soap operas. Mine happens to be written more like the old show "Soap", which was a parody soap opera. Tends to happen with character-driven stories. As to the diamond, it's cubic zirconium -- not easily smashed.
*** @Darius Drake ***: It's not in their interests to destroy it, and the heroes aren't allowed to. There'd be a fine and a reprimand to anyone who did. And thanks; it's going to be a slow return I think.
*** @SoItBegins ***: Good question. The answer would be "Yes", via organized crime whose union also works for the government, so they still win.
*** @Mr Kaos ***: Hey, my readers are still plenty important to me.
@ Darth Xelleon: I'll assume that they'll have the cost of the stone taken out of their paychecks eventually.
@Smk: Meh, you give us this entertaining comic for free, so you have the right to take as long breaks as you want when you want them. Welcome back as well.

Poor Hydro. His arms must be aching up a storm by now!

Organized crime and the government--stop being redundant.

Yay! Glad to have you back! Also, has anyone made devices w/ the supervillain override removed? If not, there's a new market...

Welcome back, SMK! Glad to see you out and about. That description almost sounds like a soap opera. What happens if someone smashes the diamond?
