Ep. 19, Page 40

Here is the main rival in Japan of Tombow Mono pencil I am using at the moment: Mitsubishi's Hi-Uni:

In comparing the H grades of both, I found the Hi-Uni scratchier and not as dark as the Mono (this is the US market version of the Mono, not the sold-in-Japan Mono 100), almost as if it's more like a 2H than an H or something, although the Hi-Uni and the Mono seemed about equally smeary. Anyway, the Mono was smoother and darker so I'll stick with that–and since it's sold here domestically, it's also nearly 1/3rd the price of the imported Hi-Uni, so that's a plus.
Also the Mono is finished in black, which is obviously significantly more bad-ass and A*-ish. :P
I did kind of overload on graphite with it on this page, though. Gotta get used to the increased amount of lead this thing puts out vs my ol' 0.5 mm mechanical.
