Star Strip Issue 1 page 6

Commander Aura is shown her position on the bridge of the USS Surprise. Rickover is probably hiding in his cabin sulking, but anyway Spock has the con. The Earth producer who received the telepathic download was Gene Roddenberry. A similar idea was used to explain the original Star Fleet Technical Manual as an accidental data transmission that went back in time.
I purchased a Shatner as Kirk figure so Kirk will be showing up eventually. I put my Jeffrey Hunter as Pike figure together so he'll be in it too. Bruce Greenwood as Pike from the reboot movies will appear as Commodore Tang. Pike is a fish. US submarines in WWII were named for fish. One of the most successful US subs was USS Tang. So the Star Fleet Commodore is named Tang. Will there be a fight between the reboot figures and the original cast figures? Yeah, Kirk needs to take that Rickover down a few notches. ;-)
This bridge set like all those for the ship is an excellent 3D model I stole off the internet. Actually I only stole screen shots and edited the colors. A lot of 3D models are quite darkly lit.
Like the new page background? Think its some astronomy photo I grabbed? No it's a couple of simple Photoshop techniques taken out of the book Photoshop Down and Dirty Tricks. Anyone can do a plain starfield with a lens flare but throw in nebulae and it's a whole different galaxy.

Awesome that we'll see Shatner and Pike. I loved Captain Pike - that original pilot is a fantastic episode, better than the series in some ways (ahead of its time and quite "Next Generation-ish" I guess).

I loved this page so much I called my Mom downstairs to look at it. She liked it too, she said. Hope this doesn't delay the cooking of my dinner too much!

@fallopiancrusader: That extraterrestrial culture contacted an earth television writer before it was tragically wiped out by a horrid plague spread by infected telephones after exterminating all their telephone sanitizers. But somehow Last Days of the Telephone Sanitizer Civilization wasn't as catchy a title as Beverly Hills 90210. The writer went on to mention the civilization in a radio play (and later book) he was writing .

Oh, wow. I thought for sure the T.V. show being referenced was "Beverly hills 90210"! Masterful compositing work on this page!

Completely inaccurate. My Mom's house doesn't have a basement.
