DRAWING, CHARACTER AND SUBMISSION BELONG TO Wandering-Wolves FROM DEVIANTART .COM

READ COMMENT FOR WRITTEN SUBMISSION:

“Ugh…if I walk any more,my bones are gonna break…”grumbled the young wolf.“I really should have flown…why the heck did I even decide to come out here in the wilderness?!”
“Because you said you could do with an adventure and some exercise,so stop conplaining.”
The wolf groaned.Alternate-egos can be a real pain when brooding over one's own mistake.
“I'll keep that in mind Articane.”
“The peace is always welcome,Winston.”

The teen wolf bit back a sarcastic remark, replying with a grunt of consent. He was of average build, covered in jet black fur, exept the areas where white fur ran from his lower jaws over his belly. He was dressed casually, wearing a plain T-shirt and pants.

Feeling tired,he laid his staff on the groung before settling down on the grass for a rest when a low rumble resounded from the heavens.Seconds later, the rain came, pouring down in torrential sheets of water…

The wolf flicked his fingers in a long, fluid motion.

…the rain stopped in it's decent, hovering several inches from the wolf's fur,as if deflected by an invisible force.
Streching out his hand, the invisible field extended, sheltering an area around the wolf.He then got up,salvaged as many dry twigs as he could before settling down again.
Focusing on the twigs in his hand, they slowely began to smoke, glowing redder and redder as they smouldered, before igniting with a flash.

Basking in the glow of the small campfire, the wolf closed his eyes, letting his mind extend outwards to the surrounding forest. He touched every rock, every plant, taking in the surroundings as he would read a book…wait!
He had picked up an alien mind, one that stuck out from the whole forest like a sore thumb.Whatever it was,he could feel it was a sentient being, coming closer and closer at an incredible speed…

Snapping his eyes open, the wolf whirled around, staff at the ready, wings fully spread open should he have to flee.

A cloaked figure moved into the light of the campfire, eyes buring as red as molten glass, staring straight at the wolf as if to burn a hole through his soul.
“Typical…”Muttered the wolf,“shadow creature of doom appearing on a dark rainy night…”
“Careful…there is a stench of magic about that figure.”warned his split-personality.

The “creature” extended a clawed hand, offering a pulsing red ruby.

The wolf, ignored his instincts, which were screaming for him to do anything but touch the gem and plucked it from the palm of the creature.

There was a flash of lightning…the creature vanished.

“Oooookaaaaaaaay….that is just cliche'…”muttered the wolf.
The ruby had morphed into a letter.
Opening it,he unfolded the sheet of paper within it.Written in neat, fancy writing, was this:

“I offer the power to grant any wish your heart desires. I offer the power to destroy…or protect. I offer…Odin's Eye. However, I will not bestow this on just ANYONE. Only on someone whom I find worthy. If you believe yourself to deserve the Eye, sign your name on this letter with your blood, then the path to my world will open where you will fight others for it.”

“That might just be the adventure you're looking for.”
“Whelp…I just got what I asked for…nothing promised,no regrets!Now…blood?!

Dark lettering skrawled itself down on the parchment: Yes.
”Do I have to?That's just painful…“

JUST SIGN IT ALREADY!!!

”Whatever…“sighed the wolf.
Pulling up his pants leg revealed a fresh graze from when he had tripped earlier.Wincing as he swiped some of the blood off,he proceeded to write his name down, touching the graze for more blood every now and then, cursing himself for having such a long name.

The second his hand left the parchment, letters scrawled themselves down next to his name:

Winston

“Hurray for instant fill-in parchments!”mused Articane with a hint of sarcasm.
“Be grateful they acknoledged you enough to fill you in.”

Glancing up,Winston noticed a black door had appeared.
“Looks like that's our cue…”

Turning the handle, the lone wolf opened the door and stepped off into the unknown…
