Some say modern social interactions depend on little white lies, civil compliments you may not mean, and in general not knowing all the dirty secret things everybody does. Probably why, in some Sci-Fi stories, known telepaths are not so well-liked,
.
I imagine someone with extremely high sensory perceptions might get the same reception.

Great page. Yeah being a snitch is never liked in any society. I can't believe she just like outed the interns. But I think that is kind of the good part of her that she is honest and tries to do the right thing all the time.

@kallikak: I'm pretty good with the little white lies; which sometimes makes me feel two-faced :/ And yeah, helping someone and have them get ornery with you... makes you just wanna let them wallow in their misery sometimes. Sometimes you just have to try hard to keep in mind what they're going through.

i tend to feel that the truth is more helpful, though when no one is used to hearing or telling the truth, i suppose the white lies are 'expected'. i'm terrible at them myself. usually i'll tend to say nothing at all rather then lie, which rather makes things worse i suppose. the internet is a little easier, where all social interaction can be preformed in emoticons and meme <.< and while i can understand her desire to avoid doctors, and appreciate being completely tired of hospitals, it definitely makes it hard for the people that care about you when you take it out on them! hehe.

Your admiration matters, but also they really want people to like their hair. Yet you can't tell them you don't or they take it as a personal affront. So you tell them you like it. They're happy. You're fine. And civilized behavior continues as it has for ages. It's our species' version of grooming vermin off each other - and a Telepath would really throw a wrench in that :)

White lies? Maybe. When some one asks, "How do you like my new hair style?" and I think, 'It looks stupid'. I would say it was nice. why? First, the person likes it. My opinion really isn't important. My admiration for them is important. A word that rhymes with witch? .... Can't think of any :) Sci-fi telepaths are mostly disliked out of fear and envy ?
