Okay, a bitter daughter, a perverted son… Has Socorro walked into Dysfunction-ville?

Maybe it's not as bad as it seems ;) Socorro was wronged badly, and Salvatore is a teenage boy who is… Well, he's a teenage boy - ‘nuff said!

As Bravo1102 noted last page, panels that convey what’s going on without text are often more effective. My comic is extremely ‘talkative’, probably more than it needs to be, maybe because I'm less confident that a reader will ‘get’ a panel that depends mostly on the art to convey what's going on.

For instance, the last two panels: is it hard to figure out why Kimber Lee sniffed her hand? Did anyone really notice she did prior to reading this author note? I nearly had Kimber Lee ‘think’ why she did so (as she's wont to do), but decided to see if the art itself would be sufficient. So let me know - allay my fears… or confirm them! haha

Artwise, still working those watercolor pencils and continue to do so for a few more pages until I give them up forever (until I decide to try them again :D)

@bravo1102: Agreed, I imagine if Kimber Lee thinks she's generating some sort of pheromone-thing that might effect a male, it's a subconscious thing, beyond her notice (due to familiarity as you mention), and like so much else that's troubling her, perhaps beyond her control. And yeah, for Cowboys (and girls) shirts off before hats, and the last thing off is the boots :D

Now would her super smell be able to detect changes in her own scent? Lots of people can't smell themselves very well because they're always in the midst of their smell so it's ignored. As for body changes, well she's probably in for a big surprise as she goes from normal woman to UBER BUFF BABE!

Nah, similar to that 'romance' discussion thread of y'all's, some stories work best when fan-service (if it's there) is downplayed and not the focus, but also not totally avoided because of some rule. Real people, in real life, really get naked on occasion and really have sex. Them's just the facts. This story is (pseudo-hard) sci-fi in nature (with a healthy dose of ontological philosophy) - that's the pervading theme I want to keep , but it involves a woman who still very much wants to be full human life, with all that entails.

Hahaha...well, her hand position in the last panel suggested it is all. XD ..........I don't think this comic needs that kind of fan service, unless that's something you WANT to have.

@Banes: Cool! That's exactly what I was hoping would be conveyed. Kimber Lee recently influenced a horse through smell. Salvatore talks about her scent (panel 4). So... she wonders! Glad the family dynamics seem plausible too! And open her shirt? What do you think this is - Death Porn?!?! :D But... maybe she'll deliver a tiny bit of fan-service (we are rated-T still, and sadly you can't show Nips in rated-T *shakes head*)

@fallopeancrusader: Well I'm glad it was noticed, but did you think why she sniffed her hand? And maybe think of some reasons? No problem if you didn't - I just may need to work on my 'conveying through the image' skills :)

p.p.s. This family may be dysfunctional, but they're perfectly, excellently realistic for that! Awesome staircase in panel 1, by the way.

It's pretty hard to show sniffing/smelling without some kind of dialogue/sound effect. But why she's smelling her hand...hmmm. Well, she just touched Salvatore while pushing him away...I assumed she was smelling because she detects some kind of pheromone coming from herself...not sure. But I strongly feel it's better not to explain everything, regardless (it's a strong impulse I'm always struggling to resist).

It was immediately clear that she was sniffing her hand, because you put that sound effect in there. Without the *sniff* effect, it would probably have looked like she was cupping her chin in reflection or something like that.
