Well, you can't say “anything” and then say “but not that…”
.
I tend to be wordy, but I'm trying to let the ‘art’ tell more of the story, so, if you comment, would you mind saying what you think might be going on here? I'd like to know if the ‘art’ is even coming close to suggesting what's the going on in the story haha… Not that it has to totally do so - this is also supposed to be a little mysterious, but also… gahhhh! See! I'm wordy - I can't stop lol
.
Speaking of the Art: I decided the ‘total page saturation’ thing I was doing was just too dark. There was almost no white anywhere, and white paper ‘show through’ is what give's watercolor alot of its punch! So, trying things a little different.
.
Thanks for Reading Everyone :)

Ooooooh.

@VinoMas: haha close enough! - especially the type of emotions going on!
VinoMas at 11:43AM, Aug. 3, 2014
Panel 1-3, she is asking not to be raped. Panel 4, 5, 6, she is shot at but the bullets hit the floor. Panel 7 and 8, she stands up, stretches, and is about ready to get her revenge on the shooter. This comes from someone who has only read the newest pages. :) Enjoy!
KimLuster at 10:26AM, Aug. 1, 2014
@Jerrie: Hey, thanks! I hope that panel wasn't a one-timer haha!
jerrie at 8:33AM, Aug. 1, 2014
I agree with plymayer I really love panel five. very good artwork
KimLuster at 7:43AM, Aug. 1, 2014
@Plymayer: Why thank you! Nuthin' wrong with being goofy - just sayin' :) Can it take her 'soul'? Well, we still don't know a whole lot about it, if she CAN communicate with it, or even if things such as 'souls' exist in this comic's 'reality'... But... things will be moving a lot more into that sort of territory next couple chapters - don't get off the ride! :D
plymayer at 7:01AM, Aug. 1, 2014
Panel five is my favorite. Almost framing and putting on the wall favorite. Except friends think I'm goofy enough without seeing that sort of thing depicted on my wall. Just saying, great artwork. She really does need to make friends with that "thing" and get to communicating with "it" on a more regular/friendly level. Who knows, maybe they can come to some sort of mutually beneficial arrangement.
plymayer at 6:58AM, Aug. 1, 2014
It can't take her soul...can it?
KimLuster at 4:30AM, Aug. 1, 2014
@Peipei: Yup, she'd make a great chiropractor! :)
Peipei at 10:47PM, July 31, 2014
Looks like our girl is back in action!
KimLuster at 8:51AM, July 31, 2014
@PaulEberhartd: lol yeah I personally don't mind 'wordiness', and tend to like it if written well, but I also really like graphic pages where you kinda have to search the characters' expressions and look for other details to know what's intended. It's just fun to do, and I want to give readers of my stuff the same opportunity on occasion. Plus, I have a reader who says I'm too wordy at times XD! Gah, like being a marriage partner gives you the right to be brutally honest haha
PaulEberhardt at 8:01AM, July 31, 2014
I guess that, whatever it is, it's probably even more painful than the healing process must already be. The presence is playing with her a bit, though, judging from her annoyed look in panel 3 (which made me have a good snigger). So perhaps it was just a highly inappropriate suggestion or something like: "Anything? Well, then just die! Har! har!" I'm sure we'll find out what it was precisely in due time. Don't worry about wordiness. I've got the same problem myself, as you certainly know, and no patent solution for how to do without either. The art tells the story perfectly well, though. It's just what I appreciate in this and other great comics: the art tells the story, the dialogue adds depth. That doesn't rule out wordy pages at all, it even makes them still necessary sometimes. I think you do a really great job at balancing the two. Whoops! Seems like I got a bit on the wordy side again! ;)

XD ...oh, I suppose...
KimLuster at 3:03PM, July 30, 2014
lol well, next page is ready but I'm trying to build up some sort of backlog again :) can I haz a few more days? :D
Banes at 1:22PM, July 30, 2014
I was thinking maybe it was telling her to kill the guards, or surrender to them - but that it's moving to take control makes sense with Kim's horrified reaction! Hmmmm...more! More! Paint fast! :D
KimLuster at 7:08AM, July 30, 2014
@FC: Veddy Intheresthink!! :D
fallopiancrusader at 6:45AM, July 30, 2014
My interpretation is that the "thing" is coming to the forefront. In the past, it supplied power that Kimber could use with her own free will, but now it's taking total control, like a puppeteer.
KimLuster at 4:25AM, July 30, 2014
@bravo: Back? Yah, me too! Breath? She think's she held it about 5 minutes back on page 119 - so... maybe we'll find out!; @jgib99: Thanks! And maybe, but maybe in an unexpected way! :)
jgib99 at 10:00PM, July 29, 2014
I think the tide is about to turn. Great page!
bravo1102 at 9:22PM, July 29, 2014
Wish all back problems could be solved with a simple *pop*. So how long can she hold her breath?
KimLuster at 8:24PM, July 29, 2014
@Banes: my un-wordy response... Alrighty Then! :D
Banes at 8:19PM, July 29, 2014
The "wordy" thing is not the end of the world - there are lots of complex, interesting ideas in this comic - some of 'em need some words! ;) ...but in my opinion, it's a worthwhile effort for any story to cut back the words. Even if it means some moments might not be instantly understandable. I'm not totally sure what's happening here, but that excites me because I want to see how it plays out and figure out what it means! That's more compelling...again, my opinion...than having it all explained as it's happenin'. Bottom line, this comic is great - and even when I don't know exactly what's happening in the moment, I'm never reacting like "Huh? Wha-?"
KimLuster at 8:07PM, July 29, 2014
@Banes: Hey, first Thank You! :) Well, so you won't have to go all through my wordy backlog haha... so far, every time Kimber Lee has tried to 'communicate' with the 'thing' it's sorta knocked her for a wallup! It has 'healed' her when she pleaded, but... maybe it would've done that anyway (gotta keep your car running eh?). Really, nearly 200 pages into the story and there's still a lot more mystery that knowledge about it - but that may change in nearish future!
Banes at 8:00PM, July 29, 2014
Does the glowing thing talk to Kim (sorry, I'm still reading the archive bit by bit)? This is an amazing page - all the detail in the background (and Kim and her clothes) continues to make it all feel very real. Love your panel layouts, too - dramatic!
