Sorry for the Text Storm! I'll have at least one more page of discussion with this crowd, as we establish a current bearing in the story, then we'll move forward in earnest again. With less text… promise! haha
.
The male in the purple shirt is Dr. Woodward. We first met him back on pages 8-9. As a fellow Synprovison employee, he appears in most of the same pages we see Dr. Trager. Other appearances: pgs 24-26, pgs 44-45 He's got his work cut out for him… :)
.
Some of the things talked about here have been discussed/hinted at earlier in the story:
Did Kimber Lee's Childhood Memories cause her Cancer via Dreams?: pgs 46-48, pg 81
That the Cancer is growing, but isn't exactly behaving like Cancer any longer: pg 44-45.
.
If it ever seems this story is going all over the place, I promise I do have an overall plot, and will try my best to bring it all back under the same roof by story's end (which is a long ways away….)
.
And just who is this ‘Subject One’ mentioned by the Colonel in the last panel…? Stick around!
.
Thanks for Reading Everyone!

Great explanations page!!! This clears up all the little details that have been confusing me for so long, especially about whether she's been dreaming or not.

There's just something about....Kimber Lee.

@Szyszka666: Thanks! If it ever starts making too much sense let me know haha :)

This is really interesting! Great page :)

@Plymayer: not enough Brits in the group ;)
KimLuster at 4:20AM, Sept. 30, 2014
@Peipei: Well, now they're just thinking it might not've really been cancer - dey kinda confoozed! :)
plymayer at 4:02AM, Sept. 30, 2014
Suppose everyone could just enjoy some after noon tea and discuss it all with her? Beyond that at this point sadly.
Peipei at 10:18PM, Sept. 29, 2014
The cancer spread all over her body but it's not killing her? That's just insane! There's all sorts of twists and turns int he story at the moment!
KimLuster at 1:25PM, Sept. 29, 2014
@plymayer: Oh God - Trek Speak...! How to respond...? Well... uh... Captain has to give the order, and uh... who's the Captain? Look at Chapter 9 header page, look at the 'thing's face, then see Bravo's comment there... *chortle*
plymayer at 10:58AM, Sept. 29, 2014
Perhaps Commander La Forge can reverse the polarity on the phase inducers and get her back to her more "normal" self?
KimLuster at 9:17AM, Sept. 29, 2014
@Bravo: that makes me smile - I hope to have a few more eyebrow-raising moments coming...!
bravo1102 at 9:13AM, Sept. 29, 2014
There's Mr. Exposition (best spoofed in Police Squad with Mr. Wizard explaining the science!) but there is some great irony here and what is described really makes the reality of the story freakier than what I thought was going on. But then how the docs are describing this what is real? Freaky.
KimLuster at 7:26AM, Sept. 29, 2014
@tupapayon: You''ll know by Chapter's End (within next 10 pages)!
tupapayon at 7:01AM, Sept. 29, 2014
Ok... The thing that's being called a virus was passed to three individuals (look at me, I'm using proper sentences)... One of them became a perfect marksman (let's call that one 'the Dog')... the other one didn't seem to have a bad reaction, yet (let's call that one 'the X')... Who could be the monster? (Let's call that one the 'T O'...

@Bravo: A common trope in stories with 'pseudo-technical' stuff going on is to have a 'Mr. Exposition', a character whose purpose is to be ignorant of things and have them explained to him, but it's really for the audience's benefit. I've tried to avoid that, but I suppose our Colonel (and everyone else here) sorta fills that niche this time... But, this Colonel may just have a bit of Exposition himself coming up... ;)

Wow! Thanks Guys! I was little worried was being too absorbed with the prose here...! @Banes: Danggit you're right! I'll fix when I get home today... And I swear I'm firing my 'proofreader', or at least a cut in pay haha
bravo1102 at 6:45AM, Sept. 29, 2014
Not going everywhere. This is exposition. All Sci-fi needs the long winded explanation of why it is what it is. And this is better than most. It makes sense. What saved her could be killing her and her dream could be her nightmare health-wise. Layers of meaning and irony here.
Banes at 6:18AM, Sept. 29, 2014
In panel 3, one of the balloons is missing a word. It should probably be "...pushed to what seems to BE superhuman..." or "...pushed to what AMOUNTS to superhuman..."
Banes at 6:17AM, Sept. 29, 2014
Interesting stuff! It's nice to have some text at this point actually, to help us understand what's been going on! And this "Subject One" sounds intriguing (a monstrous transformation does not sound so good, to say the least).
KimLuster at 6:06AM, Sept. 29, 2014
@FC: lol... Yeah, some think there's a big link between Telomeres and Cancer and Aging. To anyone else interested, Telomeres resided in the DNA strands of cells, and seem to have something to do with the life span of a cell. Cancer Cells often have 'messed up' Telomeres, thus the unchecked growth of Cancer. If we could figure them out, control them without causing more Cancer, they could offer the secrets to Longevity or (*gasp*) Immortality! Hey, is Kimber Lee now effectively Immortal...? Dundundun!!!
fallopiancrusader at 6:01AM, Sept. 29, 2014
A comic book that mentions telomeres! I'm in heaven!
