Creator Dwight L. MacPherson Announces Edgar Allan Poo Webcomic

Dwight L. MacPherson, creator/writer of Arcana Studios smash-hit Dead Men Tell No Tales and Silent Devil Entertainments Jim Reaper: Week One and Lil Hellions: A Day at the Zoo cordially invites you to join the enigmatic Edgar Allan Poo and faithful guide Irving the rat as they battle mythical beasts, ancient gods, magical ravens, sorcerers, the undead, inclement weather and treacherous terrain to escape the land of dreams. The webcomic will launch the 14th of January, 2007 at drunkduck.com with subsequent strips to be posted every Saturday.
The Surreal Adventures of Edgar Allan Poo is actually a series of children's books that I am currently shopping around to publishers. The first book: Edgar Allan Poo and the Great Door to Spindle Towne is written, edited, and ready for publication, MacPherson explains. The new webcomic will compliment the books and vice versa. Our hope is that this unique approach to marketing will appeal to a much broader base and establish loyal readership prior to the release of the first book.
MacPherson is joined by talented newcomer Thomas Boatwright on art. Boatwright self-published his critically-acclaimed debut book Cemetery Blues earlier this year. The first two issues are currently available through Comixpress.com.
I was a little hesitant to work on a story that starts off in an outhouse, but after reading it through, I wanted to read more. Boatwright said. Dwight has created a wonderful introduction into the world of Poe. He's really captured the under lying tone of his works and molded it into a great fun story. Plus, I love drawing Victorian-era mice!
