They're getting a bit short with him. I'd wonder if Agneris was feeling a bit ganged up on, but I don't think he really registers such things.

Good point - what WAS the point? It's not as though any of them were in a position to alter what was going to happen. And I like how he's still "Tren-an" to them. To me too, really, since that's the form he's been in for the bulk of the story to date.
