Translations:
Panel 2: “Hey, aren't you afraid of being out at night?”
Panel 3: “The humans could attack at any time!”
So he's really only expressing his concern, but of course, she doesn't have any idea what he's saying.

It's interesting how threatening the scene is without translation... for Tai and viewer alike.

There is a structure to it, actually - though as I'm not a linguist, I can't guarantee that it works perfectly. Basically, the first word will nearly always be a noun - what the speaker is talking about. This will be followed by any adjectives to describe that noun and any additional nouns involved. The verbs or any actions associated with the noun will come last. So where we would say "He will kick the red ball" a boetheri would say "Ball red he will kick". In regard to my translations (since I realized halfway through this that that's what you were asking about, haha!) they are the equivalent to how we would say that sentence in English. (So the "He will kick the red ball" of the above scenario.) Unfortunately, this doesn't always make the translations a good way to figure out the words, since they sometimes use phrases we don't have. For example, in an earlier page, a translation for Jul was "How cute" but the more literal translation of what she said was "like a child". I put it as "How cute" because that conveys her meaning better. ...sorry for a bit of rambling, but I hope that answers your question. :)

Is there any sort of logic to your translations, so someone with enough time on their hands could work it out... or do you just make it up as you go along?
