Nareth is very invested in this conversation.
But now we're getting a little bot on the structure of the human society in this world. They're going to talk about it a bit more, but a good way to simplify the whole “nobles” thing is that they're basically kings, just kings of really varying kingdom size. I didn't want to call them “kings” because I don't think it's quite the same, but that's basically the function they serve.

Haha, I think centralized authority and high organization was what Agneris was really hoping for, but we can't make anything easy for him. It IS a huge carriage, actually by design for once! XD Partially to give myself room to move around the characters and show them all from various angles, and partially to show that there would have been space for Jaith and Tai, so it wasn't an empty offer.

Hm, a land of feudal city-states, ancestral (dis)loyalty, and petty grievances? Yep, humans! Too bad the elves don't have the ancient Chinese to deal with. They had centralized authority and bureaucracy ready for anything! This is a HUGE carriage :-)
