My script (all drafts) describes a struggle over the gun. It was nice and intense but never felt right, and when I got down to drawing, I knew why. It’s just not Tristan’s way. He’s not a fighter in any real sense. He’s a catch people off guard sort, and he’s good at it. So, we went with the ultra-smooth pickpocket approach. Poor Zack is already tense and lost his nerve, and Tristan is very “on” right now.
plymayer: Hang in there! XD
Anubis: It does have the added benefits of not being easily picked up and removed and also dissuading the bound individual from squirming too much and escaping.
ghostrunner: No it ain't!
Peipei: I'm sure they be more inclined to start forcing and tearing things if not for the explosive device. It might not be wise to move or jar it too much.

If you catch 'em off guard there is no need for a fight. Best way to go with folks who are meaner that you.
